Mission The Durham Art Gallery is committed to extending the vital role contemporary art plays in our community and to presenting a wide range of art practices in an accessible, thoughtful and appreciative context. The Gallery’s programs provoke, educate and delight rural audiences and visitors from afar by presenting the diverse range of art being practiced across Canada through on-site events, partnerships and outreach. We encourage participation in artistic dialogue between international, national and regional artists and local audiences and we embrace a multidisciplinary and inclusive view of cultural practice, exhibiting visual art and media art as well as literary and performance events. The Gallery supports two major ongoing festivals. 
The Durham Art Gallery is a small yet captivating museum with reflective and fascinating art displays. The friendly and dedicated staff ensure a great atmosphere and provide free admission.
