TED talk The Power of Belief 'School Expectations Handbook' coming soon.. As you may be aware, Ryan's Law, 2015, was passed by the Ontario Legislature. This piece of legislation is an important step to support the well-being of students with asthma in Ontario schools. Over the course of the next school year, Grand Erie District School Board will be working to implement the requirements of this legislation. In the meantime, if your child has asthma, we ask that you immediately contact the main office at your school to provide information about your child’s asthma medication. With your permission, your child will be allowed to carry their asthma medication. By the next school year, a more formal process to identify students with asthma and their asthma medication will be put into place to better support the needs of your child. The Ministry of Education website has resources on asthma. As a best practice and to support your child, please let the school know if your child has a medical condition so that the school is aware and can keep this information on file. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me directly.

Welcome to the Fairview Avenue Public School website. We hope this site will become a source of information for all our families. We look forward to working together with all our students to inspire personal success. We encourage you to remain in close communication with your child's teacher to ensure that he/she has a successful year! The Drop Off Loop is becoming a traffic jam at dismissal time. Parents are reminded that stopping to pick up students is to happen only in the lane beside the rocks. That is our quick pick up lane. The next lane(middle lane) is left open for traffic to flow. If you need to park and come into the school, or if your child is one of the last students to exit the school, there are 3 parking spaces available next to the property line fence. You can also park at the front of the school and come in to get your child, meet with the teacher or pick up homework. Please don’t park and leave your vehicle at dismissal time in the Drive Through Flowing traffic lane (middle) or in the Quick Pick Up lane, it causes other parents who are using the loop correctly to get frustrated. Please remember that this is a Drive Through/Pick Up/Drop Off Loop. We would like to do our best to prevent traffic jams at dismissal time. Sometimes, due to mechanical breakdowns or other reasons buses run late. Late buses and bus delays are also posted as soon as that information is available in the morning on the Grand Erie District School Board website.
