I’ve been a player my whole adult life, I’ve done every kind of gig you can imagine, and have played with hundreds of musicians. I’ve played country music in a crappy bar in Northern BC, and in a punk band in the late 70's. I played in a reggae band at Expo 86 and was part of a production company that made commercials and soundtracks for film. I still take lessons myself and have rediscovered the love of jazz I developed as a young music student at Grant MacEwan in Edmonton. The cool thing about having all this experience is that I’ve played everything and love it all. Some people only get excited about what they like; I get as excited about Zakk Wilde, Tom Morello and Jeff Beck as I do about Joe Pass, Pat Metheney, SRV and Django Reinhardt. The Beatles and Pink Floyd still rule! I like it all–and encourage my students to keep an open mind as well.
