Shubie Park Campground is the only campground located in Halifax / Dartmouth Conveniently located in Dartmouth on the quiet shores of Lake Charles. Here you’ll enjoy a peaceful, wooded setting and a variety of recreation facilities while still handy to sightseeing and shopping in the Greater Halifax area. Enjoy the hustle and bustle of metropolitan Halifax by day and the tranquility of Shubie Park by night - or the other way around. We’ll be happy to provide you with all the information you’ll need to get to where you want to go, and back again, while you’re here. It’s only a short walk to... the locks of the historic Shubenacadie Canal . Once part of an old MiKmaq waterway, the canal linked Chebucto ( Halifax Harbour ) with Cobequid Bay at the head of the Bay of Fundy . Today you’ll find trails from the campground that gently wind their way through the woods leading to the Shubenacadie Interpretive Centre where the area’s history is brought to life.
