An experienced family lawyer, Katherine Fraser has practiced law for over 18 years. She attended the University of Victoria, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1984 and a law degree in 1988. Called to the Bar of British Columbia in 1989, she has been a certified family law mediator since 2006. In 2013, The Law Society of British Columbia announced new requirements for Lawyer Mediators including additional training. Ms Fraser has met all of those requirements & continues to take additional training to enhance her mediation skills. Her strength as a mediator is in helping couples to communicate with each other in a relaxed, positive atmosphere, guiding them towards team building. A resident of the Tri-Cities area since 1992, she served as a trustee of the Port Moody Public Library Board for six years. Fraser has also provided pro bono legal services as a volunteer through the Western Canada Society to Access Justice legal clinics at SUCCESS (in Coquitlam) and the Tri-City Women's Resource Center in Port Coquitlam. She has helped many couples to successfully resolve their issues in a kind, supportive environment, assisting clients to communicate effectively and work together to resolve matters.
