PLEASE READ before considering Wayne Building Products. We have been scammed and are out well over $15,000. We went to Wayne Building Products in late Oct 2021 sourcing out siding for a project. We met with salesman Minh Duong. After finalizing what product we wanted to use, Minh referred and highly recommeded installer Soan Chang (Sean) from IDon’t Stop Demolition. Minh and Sean came to the property location 3 times to do measurements for the material needed for the project. Minh provided a quote and we gave Sean and Minh $15,000 to place the order for the materials. In March 2022 we called Sean to let him know we were ready for the install. After getting the run around from Sean, we called Wayne Building Products directly only to discover that our product was not ordered and that instead Minh used our $15,000 towards another one of Seans jobs. After escalating this and talking with Kevin (ownership of WBP) we were told that the $15,000 was refunded directly to Sean by cheque. Two different stories coming from WBP ownership/management. When confronted, Wayne Building Products put up their hands saying that this is an issue with Sean and does not involve them because they don’t have our money anymore. Incorrect. Our product was a special order, non returnable and non refundable item - (as per Waynes Building Products Policy) yet Minh gave our $15,000 back to Sean knowing full well that the money came from us for our project. A project that he helped in placing the order. Ming has admitted to knowing about this and also has told his own management that he has spoken to Sean and Sean has said he will pay us back. This was confirmed by the owner of WBP. We have phone calls recorded which we offered to share with Kevin Dale and his response was – “well what do you want me to do fire Minh? He has worked for me for 20 years. Even if I hear the recording it won't change my opinion”. We have recorded this conversation as well. They have washed their hands of their involvement and trying to cover up for each other but it gets deeper. We have discovered that Minh is currently using Sean to do work at his own property! They are good friends. Every time we call Wayne Building Products we get a phone call shortly after from Sean. Considering Sean screens our calls this is not coincidence. He has also told us to not call Wayne's so Minh doesn't get in trouble. After being scammed out of our initial product we had no choice but to re-order the product to finish the job. At the time Minh was helpful and tried to assist us in rectifying the situation and helped mediate between Sean and us. We ended up making an arrangement with Sean that he would pay us back by doing the installation which would account for our lost $15,000. Minh came out again with Sean and measured the home. Of course, Sean scammed us again and no showed so we had no choice but to hire another contractor to complete the install. The new installer discovered that a large amount of extra window flashing was ordered. When he went to return the product, another Wayne sales representative made the comment “haha are you guys building a mall?” We were then told that this material is non-returnable and non-refundable and that it was our responsibility to make sure that the amounts ordered were correct. After several arguments with Wayne Building Product staff, and notifying them that it was indeed their sales rep that came to the project and measured 3 TIMES with the installer HE referred to us, they finally agreed to refund the product. Non- returnable and Non-refundable didn’t stop Wayne Building Products from giving our $15,000 back to Sean a few months earlier. Please be EXTRA cautious when purchasing any product from this company. They are fully aware that we were scammed and have done everything to avoid any responsibility. Shameful. We have phone recordings, text messages and several witnesses that can support this
