The mission of the Peirce edition Project (UQÀM) is to prepare the critical edition of texts written by Peirce between 1883 and 1909 for the Century Dictionary. The selection will represent the core of volume 7 of the Writings of Charles S. Peirce: A Chronological Edition. The transcription of relevant material — extracted from 57 manuscripts — is now complete, and the project's database presently holds 15, 999 records/documents for 9, 969 different words. The main sources are MS 1597 (Peirce's interleaved copy of the Dictionary, in which he indicated the words on which he worked, and added 3, 497 definitions and comments), MS 1596 (518 index cards related to the dictionary, out of the extant 22, 000), and the MS 1168-1177 series.
