Tirecraft Concord

Mckee Tirecraft has been selling and servicing tires in the Collingwood area since 1956. Bob McKee first opened the business as a two bay Shell gas station. Bob focused the business on service right from day one. He did mechanical repair and tires however gas was the mainstay of the business. The business continued to grow and in 1958 Bob’s brother Hugh joined the business. Hugh started to grow the tire business beyond just car and light truck tires. Hugh saw an opportunity to service the truck tire industry and the large market of farm tires so close at hand. By 1970 when Hugh left the business McKee Tire was the place to go to for all your tires need servicing Simcoe, Grey and Dufferin Counties. With Hugh leaving Bob’s other brother John partnered into the business. Bob’s son Tom had started working at the gas station pumping gas and helping when he was 8 years old.
