TC Today TC Industries, Inc. is a 133 year-old family owned and operated business which prides itself in Taking Care of Safety, our Environment and our Customers. We are the supplier of choice for thermal processing of alloy steels, low carbon steels and stainless steels. Heat treatment processes include quench & tempering, annealing, normalizing and stress relieving. In addition, we manufacture wear components and ground engaging tools. Headquartered in Crystal Lake, Illinois. The headquarters building was dedicated in June, 1989. The lobby was designed to preserve and display the company’s history. Manufacturing of ground engaging tools, cutting edges, bucket edges and end bits for OEM manufacturers in the construction and mining industries in North America and Europe. TC History TC Industries began in 1881 as the Spring Valley Tile Works. In 1887, the name was changed to the American Terra Cotta and Ceramic Company. In 1935, the company was acquired by the Berry family and became the American Terra Cotta Corporation. In 1948, as a result of WWII, the business converted to steel heat treating and became the American Steel Treating Company. In 1955, the Mill Products Division was formed and five years later, the Processed Steel Company was formed. In 1972, TC Industries, Inc. was incorporated as a holding company for Mill Products Division, Processed Steel Company and our international plants in Canada and the UK. TC is Family Owned TC Industries has been owned by the Berry family since 1935. Bob and George Berry are the current Presidents and remain active in day to day operations. Bert and Sterling Berry are the newest additions to TC and are the son and daughter of George. Today we employ over 700 team members in the U., Canada and the U.
