Not only does he never book you on time for appointments- he speed runs your visits so he can bill the government for as many patients per day as he can. be prepared to not be listened to, for him to give you a misinformed diagnosis, to refuse to run tests, refuse referrals, etc. This man has absurdly no regard for your health- he wants you to stop whining and get out of his office as quick as possible and will throw anything at you to do so. He prescribed me several antibiotics for recurring UTIs- i’m now immune to antibiotics and they don’t work to treat infection. it was Interstital Cystitis which i later found after i begged the hospital for a referral to a urologist after a subsequent kidney infection from holding it too often. No empathy, terrible for patients with mental illness- will refuse to put you on anything but Sertraline or Paxil. If you say you think you have adhd- he’ll tell you to exercise more instead of getting you a psychiatrist. Geriatric patients are his favourite because they also share his bigoted views- and are easily impressionable. They’ll believe whatever a doctor tells them- even if it’s wrong. If you know yourself and you want accurate treatment and for your problems to be looked into in depth- he will not do this for you. He’ll dismiss you and move on to the next patient he can gouge the government for money from. He’s also a transphobic man who doesn’t believe in proper practice. Dismisses and abandons patients all the time. I inquired about hormone replacement therapy, which Dr Rotondo claimed needed a specialist. He misinformed me, which is against the law. GPs are allowed to prescribe HRT to anyone over the age of 18 with informed consent in Ontario, regardless of if you’re a transgender health specialist or not. Shortly after these inquiries, he claimed he would refer me to a specialist. I have since waited 2 years, and no specialist has called. The kicker is Dr Rotondo blocked my number. When I called a couple years back to follow up on the referral, I could not get through to him. I recently changed my number and I was able to reach the office, which means Dr Rotondo improperly dismissed me with no notice. And also, no grounds for dismissal. The only reason I was let go as a patient is because I am transgender. This is medical negligence as well as malpractice, I very much hope this discriminatory man loses his license. I am currently filing a complaint with the Ombudsman, hopefully I’ll get good news back. I’ve since went on testosterone on my own, which has caused a plethora of health problems. If I had a physician who was willing to practice harm reduction and allow me to go on HRT safely, this would not have happened. I now have severe hypotension and POTS. This is a direct result of the lack of care I received from Dr Rotondo. This is disgusting and I will also be getting a lawyer to see my options about suing him for negligence.
