Description
The PTP ASEP Training Society (“PTP ASEP”) is a not-for-profit aboriginal organization registered under the Society Act (British Columbia) and has been in operation since January 2010. The Society was formed in response to the training and employment needs of 16 First Nations impacted by the Pacific Trails Pipeline (“PTP”) and associated Kitimat Liquefied Natural Gas (“LNG”) Export Terminal project. In collaboration with PTP and Kitimat LNG, a key focus for PTP ASEP has been to match client training and skills development to the precise occupational profile and labor force needs of the two LNG projects and more generally the Energy Industry.

The Society’s clients and activities encompass a vast region that follows the Highway 16 corridor from Prince George, B.C. to Kitimat and Prince Rupert, BC. The PTP ASEP services and activities have impacted over 2, 000 individuals and as many as 44 First Nation communities in Northern, BC. The Society’s primary offices are located in Prince George and Terrace, BC. PTP ASEP is managed by an Executive Director and 6-member board of directors comprised of representatives from Industry and First Nations. During the past 5 years PTP ASEP has acquired considerable knowledge and experience in the administration, implementation and management of training and employment services for aboriginal communities in Northern.
