Dr Perrin is the first health professional to have come up with helpful answers for my child. He has opened the blinds and let in the daylight for us.

I should have reacted to my first impressions when I found out that Dr. P. did not have any office staff and blared Q107 in his waiting room (sorry, great to listen to in the car, but not appropriate for a psychologist's waiting room). On a recommendation from our school board, my wife and I took our son to see Dr P. The expectation was that he would perform a reasonable assessment and provide guidance and advice that would be beneficial to us and to our son's well-being. Later, I couldn't help but be convinced that Dr P. is a puppet of the school board and that's why we were referred to him. After forking out over $3,000 Dr P. simply administered a boiler-plate test that is no doubt standard in any under-grad textbook and performed an assessment with a tool that has pre-determined analysis based on the responses that my son gave. Not believing the absurdity of the report that Dr P. provided, we shared this with many people who know our son including professionals and the common response that we got was that this simply does not describe your son - the report is way off! I have never publicly criticised anyone in the past, but I feel it's necessary for me to make an exception and provide warning. Based on my experience with Dr P. (which ends here, I will never do business with him again), I can only conclude that he has little grasp of his profession, performs shoddy analysis, provides no uselful insight, and has nothing to offer that is either helpful or comforting. He seemed more intent to place a label on my son (in fact, he pushed a label that isn't recognised by his profession and doesn't exist) and have us provide this analysis to our son's school the outcome of which would be his treatment as a pariah. We have taken matters into our own hands by putting our son in a private school where he is no longer struggling, but is thriving. His confidence has awoke, he is socializing more, enjoying life a lot more, and is well on his way to academic and social success, in spite of Dr. P.
