Hi everyone, I am Jenny. I worked here for sometimes. When I started working, I wanted to get paid by cheque full time, the owner agreed and said she will tell the accountant, and I asked if I will get vacation pay. The owner said No Vacation pay, none of the employees there gets vacation pay. I worked here for almost two months but the owner paid me half by cheques and half by cash. I know why she does that. That is because she does not want to pay tax to the government. And I know some employees work there for cash only (and they get paid less when working for cash, meaning that benefits the owner)The owner is doing that only benefits the business. When I asked about these things and how the business is evading federal tax, I got laid off , and the owner did not give me a reason why I was laid off. I called CRA and reported what I have written here. I write this so the customers coming here know how bad the owner is treating the employees , and how the owner is evading Canadian tax. Note : if you tip at that place, better to use cash and give the tip to the person that service you, otherwise that person might not all the tip from you.
