Description
The Society provides information and acts as a resource for seniors and elders across the NWT. The Society is the only voluntary agency representing the individual and collective interests of all seniors and elders in the NWT. To become a voting member of the NWT Seniors' Society you must be 50 years of age.
The Society is also made up of member organizations representing the interests of seniors throughout the NWT. The Board of Directors consists of representatives from various NWT communities appointed from the community. A Board Member must be over 60 years of age.

To ensure seniors have dignity, independence, participation, fairness and security within the community.

Principles guide the actions by which the Mission will be achieved:
Dignity means being treated with respect, regardless of the situation, giving a sense of self-esteem.
Independence means being in control of one's life.
Participation means being involved, staying active, and taking part.
Fairness means having needs considered equally with others.
Security means having adequate income in a safe and supportive environment.
