Michaels, Thunder Bay, ON

On the 20th of May I attended Michaels TBay for the purpose of reframing one painting and replacing the glass on another. Michaels had recently reopened after the pandemic closure. I was met at the entrance by a manager who provided me with a sanitized cart and occupancy was being restricted. She then called the person in the framing area to say I was coming. I arrived at framing and Manager Melissa told me that Brianna, the person in framing was having her lunch but would soon be out. I placed my paintings on the counter and waited for approx. 20 minutes. A female came out from behind the framing area and walked by me and the paintings that were on the counter without looking towards me or acknowledging me. I assumed this was Brianna. She went into the shop area and was doing something on the work table. I waited for approx. 5 minutes and then called her name and asked if she was busy. She did not respond. There is a buzzer on the counter. I don't like pushing these because I don't want to be a pest. I pushed the buzzer and waited another 5 minutes; however, Brianna still did not acknowledge me. I then loaded my paintings back into my cart and proceeded to the entrance. Manager Melissa was there and I told her that I didn't get any response from Brianna. The manager then called her using her headphones, Melissa seemed to be getting a negative response and was apprehensive to communicate with Brianna. Melissa then told me to go back to framing and Brianna would meet me there. I returned to framing and Brianna was in the entrance to the workshop area moving rolls of paper around. I stood at the counter but Brianna returned into the shop. I waited another 5 minutes; however, Brianna was doing something at the big work table and again did not acknowledge me. I returned to the front entrance and told Manager Melissa that I could not get service from the framing area. She said she could get someone from the cash area to come and help me. I told her it was too late and obviously they did not want my business. I left the store very frustrated, I called The Framing Post & Design Shop and was able to get the service I wanted. Jackie, owner of the Framing Post was very professional, she helped me pick out the appropriate frames and glass and I was very satisfied with her service. I WILL NOT go back to Michaels, Thunder Bay.
