Matters of Hope Counselling, Picton, ON

I have been working with children, youth and their families for the past 16 years and use a strength-based model of counselling.

I am a Registered Psychotherapist and have a Masters Degree in Counselling and an Advanced Diploma in Child and Youth Work. In 1999 I began my career as a Child and Youth Worker in Ontario working in public schools and alternative education programmes. In 2003 I moved overseas to Australia and gained additional qualifications that enabled me to work for several years with children who were affected by domestic violence and other forms of complex trauma. In between, I have enjoyed many opportunities to work with children, families and individuals who struggled with more day to day challenges, but needed some extra caring support. I have also developed and facilitated various therapeutic and psychoeducational groups on issues such as anger management and parenting.

I started Matters of Hope Counselling in the hopes that I might fill a need in the local area and I am always open to feedback in order to fill that need better.
