"My personal shopping experience with talented designer, Malene Grotrian, can only be likened to being treated like the most important person in the room -- like a million bucks! Because with Malene, you are! Having the opportunity to not only meet the creator of such beautiful fashions but also have the select pieces from her collection she feels best compliment you was invigorating and empowering. It was an experience I will never forget.
That's why when I had the opportunity to introduce Malene and her collection to a friend I jumped at the chance. She has a way of inspiring confidence through her passion for design, her positive energy, and her infectious attitude, and she gives you permission to celebrate and accentuate your uniqueness while looking utterly fabulous in her creations. Feeling so good about myself after my visit, I had to share that experience with others and I haven't stopped talking about it since. Her clothes feel good and look even better. They're versatile, stylish, colorful, and can "wow" in the boardroom and the ballroom.

Denmark-born Malene Grotrian is a fashion designer based in Vancouver, BC. After participating in Vancouver Fashion Week, she was invited to New York Fashion Week in 2009. With European-inspired pieces focusing on voluminous skirts and pants, and tighter fitting bustiers that are flattering on any woman, Malene is certainly one to look out for! All pieces are designed with unexpected details to create a nouveau classic expression and are made locally in Vancouver B.C. Canada.

Since opening the doors to her own atelier in December 2008, Malene has been dressing some of Vancouver’s most notable talent. Inspired by timeless, unique, European style, all designs are sophisticated and created with femininity and elegance in mind. The collections offer a variety of evening wear, professional wear and custom designs. All pieces are designed with unexpected details to create a nouveau classic expression and are made locally in Vancouver B.C. Canada.
Born and raised in Denmark, Malene Grotrian graduated in 2004 from the Danish design school, Teko Center Denmark. After furthering her design and fine art studies in Italy, Malene re-located to Canada. For over four years, Malene worked with leading Canadian designers honing in on her skills and love for detailed tailored designs and couture fashion. It was during this time that she discovered her true passion for women’s evening wear and her signature bustier, these experiences inspired the inception of the Malene Grotrian label.
In September 2009, within her first year of business, Malene has earned the attention of the fashion elite and a personal invitation to show at exclusive New York Fashion Week where she will unveil her 2010 Spring/Summer Collection.
