Too eager to hire. While looking for work I stopped by to apply. The interview was basically a "pulse test". If you have your tickets, are big enough to handle the job, you are hired. the resume is just meaningless paperwork. I've dealt with eager to hire companies before an they hire people that generally are the worst of the worse. Drug addicts, ex-cons, school yard bullies that never grew up, etc. She said "o we do drug testing" well drug tests are a joke on the oil patch. Giving the doctor a urine sample when they give you a week notice (aka, just enough time to stop taking drugs long enough to let that all go through your system) or just provide urine from someone else. I worked for a company that did regular drug testing, an every day while driving home in the crew truck at 150km/hr on the highway, a 24 pack of beer while everyone was toking away on their pipes, an that wasn't tobacco. So I decided to shit test her a little an talk mention some drama an immediately she went "yep, not dealing with this". that basically told me they have dealt with drama before (trust me, the patch is filled with it) but obviously makes no attempt to avoid such drama by having hiring standards to avoid those that cause such drama or policies to police it. I asked if she needed a criminal record check, which is actually the golden standard to avoid drug addicts, bullies & psychos. You may pass a BS drug test, but all those "possession" charges don't go away so easily, along with all those assault & battery charges either. I sure could use the big money, but I would like to stay alive an keep a clean record, what with owning handguns an such. Never got along with the "rough crowd" an never will.
