History Futons For Less Ltd./The Birkenstock Store was founded in Calgary in 1983 by Zeke Callaghan (a.a ZEKE, ZEKE THE FUTON SHIEK). Zeke is a fine example of a Calgary entrepreneur who saw an opportunity to provide quality and comfort in unique furniture and footwear. People often ask what the connection is between futons and Birkenstocks? Zeke began wearing birkenstocks 26 years ago, and bought a futon around the same time. The rest is history. He has never looked back. Over the past 26 years Futons For Less./The Birkenstock Store has provided thousands of satisfied customers with various futons/frames/covers and of course Birkenstock sandals and shoes. The majority of our business is returning customers and word of mouth.
