Dr. Ken Cunningham, North Vancouver, BC

Dr. Cunningham is extensively trained and has over two decades of experience in all aspects of internal medicine, but in particular in the assessment and treatment of cardiovascular diseases, hypertension, cholesterol problems, and in the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of undiagnosed and / or complex multi-system diseases.
In his Critical Care practice, Dr. Cunningham looks after the most acutely ill of all patients in medicine, with all types of medical illness.
In his outpatient practice, Dr. Cunningham performs and interprets exercise treadmill tests for the diagnosis and assessment of cardiovascular disease, Holter monitors for the assessment of arrhythmia, and electrocardiograms. Exercise treadmill testing (stress tests) are performed in the cardiology department of Lions Gate Hospital, which is fully staffed with trained cardiovascular technicians, and for your safety has ready access to all the acute care facilities of Lions Gate Hospital. If you require advanced cardiac assessment and treatment such as coronary angiography, bypass surgery, heart valve surgery, or a pacemaker, Dr. Cunningham will arrange the appropriate tests and procedures, often through the St. Paul's Heart Center in Vancouver, British Columbia.
Dr. Cunningham has worked with many students and residents during their training, and a number of these have since become colleagues in practice. He has served as President of the medical staff of Lions Gate hospital, and as heads of both the Department of Medicine and the Intensive Care unit of Lions Gate Hospital.
Dr. Cunningham has a number of published medical papers, and was awarded the Young Investigator's award twice by the Canadian critical care medicine society.
