Dovercraft Marine Ltd, Port Dover, ON

Dovercraft marine was established in 1977 by John VanHalteren. He started his career as a commercial diver servicing under water gas wells for gas and oil back in the late 1960s and 1970's. John then switched into the boat building business and eventually developed an 80 slip marina on Black Creek in Port Dover, Ontario. John VanHalteren Jr is now the owner/operator of Dovercraft Marine Ltd. He has grown up in the business by learning from his father . He has been operating the marina, sales and brokerage since 2001. A Canadian/Hollander extraordinaire, came to us via. Holland & Lindsay, Ontario. John started out in the commercial diving industry that dealt with the exploration of Natural Gas. John created new ideas for steel fabrication of small boats, simply put, (to form specific sized sheets of steel into streamlined boat hulls, then frame-in later), as shown below. Today, John and his son Johnny as owners of Dover Craft Marine, has developed a lovely Marina up Black Creek in Port Dover. Below are some pictures of some of the beautiful yachts John has built.
