The Canadian Institute of Financial Planning (“CIFP”) began training the first financial planners in Canada in 1972. Since that time, CIFP has trained and qualified thousands of advisors to become CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® practitioners in all industry sectors including mutual funds, banking, credit unions, securities and insurance.

In 2002, The Canadian Institute of Financial Planners (“CIFPs”), a professional association, was started by financial planners to provide industry professionals with the highest quality continuing education and support services. CIFPs has now grown to over 3, 500 members and hosts the only national financial planning conference in Canada that attracts over 30 sponsors including the top financial services firms in Canada and six hundred participants.
