Certified automation contracted through our home builder to install the Ethernet and coax cable throughout the house. We met with B**** at Certified automation to go over what cables to install and where. We had planned to get a conduit going from above the fireplace to below a window 3 feet away from the fireplace. We had brought our house drawings and conduit plan to help with the process. So we talk to B**** and ask him if we can install the conduit. He said it was impossible and to quote him "this is a one in a million house. you cannot install conduit there". We brought out the drawing and plans but he refused to look at them.On the other hand to install an in-wall HDMI for one cable was $450 and for 2 it was $550, which we thought was ridiculous. For ethernet i wanted to have CAT6 cable instead of the standard CAT5e. Instead of asking us "how many lines of CAT6 cable would you like to run?", he asked "Why do you want CAT6 cable? Your house isn't that big." So we could have 25MB/s data transfer rates and we wouldn't have to run cable in the future. So needless to say we didn't get any extras that day. We consulted our builder and asked if the contractor who did the electrical wiring in the house would install a conduit. But apparently Certified Automation had to install the conduit. So since Certified Automation was our last hope. We sent them our drawings, and Certified Automation came back with a quote for $300 for something that was supposed to be "impossible" to install. If B**** had been polite, open to ideas, and not so condescending, we might have ate the $300 bill and said yes. Instead he chose to be arrogant, condescending, and rude. So we got the key from our builder, snuck in with some PVC pipe, tuck tape, drill, 2" diameter drill bit, and a vacuum, $30 max for materials. Installed the conduit our selves, cleaned up made it look nice and neat for inspections. Now we have 2 HDMI cables running through the wall with plenty more room. I do not recommend Certified Automation.
