LE CENTRE DES MÉTIERS DU CUIR DE MONTRÉAL (CMCM)
Since 1989, the CMCM has been a professional training center dedicated to education, research and the promotion of local artisans and leather craftsmanship in Quebec, Canada and internationally. In collaboration with the Cégep du Vieux Montréal, it offers the leather craftsmanship college degree diploma program (DEC) in since 1996. The CMCM strives to ensure a strong, competitive, well-equipped and market-driven next generation of leather craftswomen and men. Forward-looking and resolutely focused on the future, the CMCM team is on the lookout for new market trends and emerging technologies that support the production of our community. Each year, more than twenty training courses, including recreational workshop classes and shoemaking courses, are offered to all audiences. Advanced training for more experienced craftspeople is also offered in partnership with the Conseil des métiers d'art du Québec (CMAQ).
