We purchased our farm in 2004 and have been raising some type of livestock ever since. Farming is a lot of hard work, but also seems to be an incurable addiction. Providing good food for your family and community in a sustainable manner is a satisfying pursuit.
At Blue Moon Ranch, we raise grass-fed beef that is hormone and additive free. All of our meat is inspected at Thunder Bay Meat Processing. We produce garden vegetables and herbs that are grown using organic methods. We maintain animal health and protect the environment by pasture raising our animals. Grass-fed meat has reduced environmental impacts and offers greater health benefits to the consumer compared with conventionally raised beef.
Conservation of biodiversity and holistic farming methods are priorities on our farm. Our goal is to produce exceptional products in a sustainable manner. If our children decide to choose this crazy life-we want to leave our land in better condition than we found it, so they can carry on the family tradition of growing good food.
