ABA Dental - Memorial, Thunder Bay, ON

I almost didn't go to this place because of the other reviews on this site, but after looking closer online and going to ABA Dental myself I suspect they are fake. Please see Google for many excellent reviews of this business -- it has 4.4 stars from 186 reviewers. I just left the following 5 star review there myself: "This place was really great. I've been seeing dentists in different cities for the last few years. The staff at ABA dental were really flexible for booking on short notice, and took me on for an extra time slot so I could have my dental work finished in one day so I could travel home. The hygenist and dentist were proficient but also gentle. They definitely restored my comfort at the dentist after a few bad experiences elsewhere. Thanks!"

My experience with ABA Dental has been terrible. I had more dental work done in 3 years than in the past 15 years combined. Every checkup seemed to lead to more and more work. Some necessary some I have to question. The part that really ticked me off is doing a procedure knowing that I didn't have coverage through my insurance. Apparently I had hit my yearly maximum, one of the staff members admitted to me after the work was done that they were aware I was at my limit and allowed the procedure to go through any way. I was on the hook for the $1,150.00 minus the $95.00 for my yearly insurance balance. Had I waited 7 weeks it would have been covered by insurance. Seems to me that ABA Dental is all about $$$ in their pocket. How about extracting wisdom teeth at age 58 because the doc said I could get cancer from biting inside of my cheek. In my opinion this place run by unethical people.

Looks like I am not alone. Wish I looked at the reviews before I went there. If you are looking for a dentist, make sure you do not walk into ABA dental. If you do, it is like you walking into a hell. They push you to have crown or root canal when it is not needed or over charge you so they could make $$$. TB health unit, Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario, TB municipal government…please do some investigations. Dr. M** is mentally and financially abusing patients.

This is the worst place ever to go to if you need dental work! They say one price on the phone and then charge you DOUBLE! Also book appointments to have teeth extracted and make you pay 500.00 for x rays and exams and then say oh we can't do it! WHAT A JOKE! NOT EVEN REGISTERED WITH THE CANADIAN DENTAL ASSOCIATION!
