In the beginning McGlynn Lumber was started by Jerry and Mary McGlynn in 1964. With great perseverance the small sawmill business evolved at the location North of Wingham on highway #4. In 1983 the business was sold to Bernie, the eldest of 9 sons and a daughter. In 1999 a second location was acquired on highway #9, halfway between Mildmay and Walkerton in Bruce County. The location now has kiln dried lumber, dimension components and parts for the furniture industry. In 2004, South Bruce Flooring was opened as a retail outlet. A place for consumers to be able to purchase solid wood building materials at factory prices. From rough cut lumber to pre-finished hardwood floors, hardwood moulding, trim, stair systems and component parts. Bernie McGlynn Lumber has come full circle. From a renewable natural source to a finished product.
