J.V.I. -- one of Canada's best driver training facilities -- was founded in 1994. It is owned and operated by former truck driver David Anderson. Located at the former Air Force Base at Slemon Park, Prince Edward Island, J.V.I. has a fleet of well maintained modern trucks, trailers and heavy equipment. Extensive driving ranges and an obstacle course located on the former runways allow students ample time to master the shifting and vehicle handling skills required before hitting the road to train as professional truck drivers. On the road training is conducted province-wide during the day and at night. All heavy equipment training takes place at actual worksites throughout the province.
