The Prince Edward Island 55 Plus Games Society Inc. is a community based volunteer and not-for-profit organization governed by a Board of Directors and is comprised of citizens interested in the objects and purpose of the society. Our Annual Fundraising Dinner will once again be held at the Roma Historic Site in Brudenell on July 31. The funds raised through this dinner support the work of the Foundation and its projects. Our Summer Islanders Initiative welcomes individuals who spend time on the Island on a regular basis and are interested in making a difference to its future development and who have created the Summer Islanders PEI Legacy Fund. In addition, CFPEI hosts The Summer Lecture Series which brings in top-notch speakers to present on Island history and culture and address topics that are important to its current economic development. This year the Series will be held at Bytes Café in the newly renovated Hampton United Church.

Enriching the lives of Canadians Special Olympics Canada. Enrich the lives of Canadians with an intellectual disability through the power of sport. Help our athletes build the strength to overcome the challenges they face every day. Special Olympics uses the medium of sport to assist persons with an intellectual disability to become all that they can be - physically, mentally, socially, emotionally - and to become accepted, respected and productive members of society. Our goal is to provide sport opportunity to every individual with an intellectual disability across Prince Edward Island. We do not exclude any potential athlete because of financial constraint. We acknowledge that Special Olympics PEI's programs take place on unceded Mi'kmaq territory. Epekwitk (Prince Edward Island) is covered by the historic Treaties of Peace and Friendship. We pay our respects to the Indigenous Mi'kmaq People who have occupied this Island for over 12, 000 years; past, present and futur Special Olympics PEI is highly regarded by its visitors, particularly for its positive impact on children. Old Home Week is another notable aspect.
