Established in 1991 and affectionately known as Baba's by its regulars, it is the place to go for live music in a small personal environment. Featuring one of the only year round smoking decks in Charlottetown, Baba s has friendly staff, some of the best food in Charlottetown coming from "Cedars Eatery" downstairs, great coffee and live music at least six nights a week. Due to Baba's size, the bands performance is always intimate and every one has a backstage pass with the opportunity to chat with band members after the show. Baba s has been a starting point gig for bands such as Joel Plaskett, The Trews, Skratch Bastid, Wintersleep, Slowcoaster and Matt Mays. With a strong, loyal, regular clientele base, news about good music spreads through word of mouth fast. If you re looking to hear a cover band play, this is not the bar for you. Quoted by Much Music as "the World's biggest little rock and roll bar!!" Baba s will always remain true!!
Babas Lounge is a popular spot with live music, friendly bartenders, and great atmosphere. Visitors have praised the food, specifically the Lebanese dishes and nachos. Wheelchair accessibility is a concern. Memorable experiences and fond memories of university days add to its appeal.
