Orthoshop History ORTHOSHOP Geomatics Ltd. was established in 1980 by a team of surveyors and photogrammetrists that saw an opening in the market for a high quality orthophoto product. Over the last 30 years, ORTHOSHOP has been a leader in photogrammetric services in Western Canada. In the early years, our business was primarily orthophoto production using the first privately owned, fully computer controlled orthophoto work station in Canada, the Leica OR1. In the mid 80's, ORTHOSHOP was one of the first companies to be involved in the Alberta Government province-wide 1:20, 000 It was at this time that ORTHOSHOP acquired the first analytical stereo work station in Western Canada. Since then ORTHOSHOP has completed projects in Mexico, Egypt, Chad, Ethiopia, Tanzania, Guyana and of course Canada and the USA.
