Established in 1975, Raga-Mala is dedicated to promote music and dance of India and to encourage interaction between Eastern and Western musicians and dancers. Raga-Mala has presented more than two hundred performances of music and dance of artists from both Northern (Hindustani) and Southern (Carnatic) traditions of India. The performers include most of the stalwarts as well as many rising stars from both music traditions of India. To encourage learning of Indian music and dance, Raga-Mala awards four scholarships annually. Two for the Allaudin scholarship for Hindustani music and two for the Saraswati scholarship for Carnatic music.Further, we also award a bursary and travel scholarship to given to students to help with their education in music
