After exploring differences between various streams of medicine and being introduced to a naturopathic doctor, Dr. Dhaliwal resonated with, and pursued naturopathic medicine. Following four years of rigorous academic learning and clinical training, she obtained her Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine from the Boucher Institute of Naturopathic Medicine (now the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine), Canada's only accredited naturopathic medical school. During her clinical training, Dr. Dhaliwal also completed a rotation at Positive Living BC in Vancouver, where she formulated naturopathic treatment protocols for individuals with HIV/AIDS. She is a member in good standing with The College of Naturopathic Doctors of Alberta, The Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors, and The Alberta Association of Naturopathic Doctors. Eden McCaffrey B.A.(psych), MSW, RSW is a social worker who focused her post graduate degree and training in clinical practice. Eden specializes in the assessment and treatment of preschoolers, school-age children, adolescents and their families. Client’s often comment on her enthusiastic, warm, and common sense approach that enables children and parents to feel comfortable and empowered. Eden has worked with Alberta Health Services since 2005. She has been a part of the Western Psychology Services co-operative since 2009, and founded Ascend: Assessment, Therapy and Consultation in 2011. Eden began working in the area of adolescent social and emotional development in 2001 as a researcher with the University of Saskatchewan. Upon completion of her undergraduate degree Eden worked with the Canadian Mental Health Association whereby her passion for working with persons experiencing mental illness was ignited. Moving to Calgary to pursue post-secondary education in clinical practice at the University of Calgary, Eden began her work with Alberta Health Services. She has since held various positions within the organization that has given her a broad background in several differing service areas including case management and coordination as well as extensive individual, group and family assessment and therapy. Additionally, she has also worked alongside the Forensic Adolescent Program, Alberta Children’s Services, and has appeared in Alberta Courts in matters pertaining to physical abuse, sexual abuse, child custody, and child guardianship. While Eden maintains a broad base of clients, including adults and families, she specializes in parenting assessments and and in the psychological treatment of preschoolers, school-aged children and adolescents.
