Steve Selinger B. Born in Hamilton Ontario, Steve began working in the pool industry with Oasis Pools as a high school student in the 1970's. After completing his undergraduate degree at McMaster University, he relocated to Edmonton, Alberta and worked in large scale commercial concrete pool construction. While there, he developed expertise in various types of concrete placement including forming and pouring and both dry and wet shotcreting. In 1980 he returned to Hamilton and purchased Oasis Pools. Steve’s areas of expertise include new pool sales and construction, advanced control systems and water chemistry. He currently resides in Burlington with his wife and three children. Greg Selinger B. hon. Born in Hamilton Ontario, Greg grew up in the family pool business. This early exposure provided the foundation for his later entry into the field. After completing his undergraduate degree at McMaster University in 1993 he entered the pool industry full time. Greg’s areas of expertise include new pool construction, reconstruction sales and employee training. Greg has significant experience in advanced gunite and marbelite construction techniques. He currently resides in Carlisle with his wife and three children. Pioneer Family Pools Burlington location has been in business since 1994. Back in 1994, the company purchased a 6, 000 square foot building on the corner of Drury Lane and Fairview Street. Within ten years, the ‘Pioneer Family Pools’ name became so well known that it was time to expand the store. In 2004, they moved the location to a building on Fairview St. between Appleby Line and Walkers Line, which was formally known as White Rose. This building tripled our square footage and is “the pilot location” for all other stores. With the added space, our showroom now displays inground, onground and above ground pools, patio furniture, hot tubs, chemicals; we offer free in-store water testing and a Parts Department for those who do it themselves. The Service Department is centralized within the Burlington Store as well for those that would like us to take care of their pool or spa. In 2006, an addition of 10, 000 square feet was added on to expand our product line to include fitness, billiards and accessories. With a total of 27, 000 square feet, the Burlington location is one of our largest stores. Our product lines have expanded substantially over the years. Each department has grown significantly, as we keep up with the changes in the pool industry. When we first opened, we had about five hot tubs on display, and today we showcase close to thirty different models. Our Patio Furniture line up stays with the latest trends and items are continued so they can be added to in future seasons. The ways in which you can clean your pool have improved as well. Our showroom has approximately ten different automatic pool cleaners to help make this process easier for you. The most important of all is your family and we have a great toy selection to keep them all happy. These are just a few of the items our location has kept up with in the ever changing pool industry.
