My interest in human behaviour and assisting people to reach their full potential led to my career as a social worker and later a therapist. I received my Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Brandon University in 1993 and later my Bachelor of Social Work from Minot State University in 1998. My most recent achievement was completing my Masters in Social Work (Clinical Stream) from the University of Manitoba in 2009. It was during this time I completed a practicum in Individual, Couples and Family Therapy with New Directions in Winnipeg, Manitoba. I have been counselling for fifteen years and offer services to individuals, couples and families in the areas of violence against women (e.g. domestic violence, sexual assault/rape, and childhood sexual abuse), anxiety, depression, stress, grief and loss, trauma/PTSD, child abuse and neglect, family violence, addictions/recovery, infidelity, loss of intimacy, communication and conflict resolution, separation and divorce. Specific populations I have had the pleasure of working with are First Nations and Inuit people, women, victims of crime, children over the age of 12, families involved with the child welfare system and families who have suffered the loss of a close family member and couples struggling with the aftermath of infidelity.
