Over the years the West End Community Centre has hosted many types of activities. Winter carnivals and jam pail curling were annual events. There used to be a hockey league between the community centres and two NHL players, Glen Hanlon and Laurie Boschman, came from the WECC. Now the community centre is rented out for many affairs. Weddings, birthdays, socials, and meetings are our most common rentals. There are weekly activities open to the public, including Zumba, karate and fitness groups. Future NHL? During the summer the community centre has a beach volleyball court and gardens for the community to enjoy. In the winter there is both a hockey rink and skating rink to help beat those winter blues. We are looking to bring more activities to the community. Keep an eye out for more things happening at the WECC!
