Dr. Al-Bakkal received her D.M.D. in Dentistry from the University of Manitoba in 2004. Her graduate studies in the Faculty of Dentistry at the University of Manitoba culminated with her Masters Degree in Oral Biology in 1998, with a thesis exploring the role of Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) in oral cancers. Further training was undertaken in the area of geriatric dentistry during her time in Manitoba. Her strong background in science began from her undergraduate studies at Queen’ University with a B.Sc. Hon. in Life Sciences in 1995 and a B.Sc. in Biochemistry in 1994.
