Richard C. Hann, founder of Mr. Fly Incorporated was born and raised in the small southwest coast community of Burgeo, Newfoundland and is the son of the late Clarence Hann, a commercial inshore fisherman and Audrey Hann who still resides in Burgeo. He graduated from St. John's Central High School in 1979 and after graduation went on to serve a 24 year career as a Marine Electrician in the Canadian Navy. He started Mr. Fly in the early 1990's and Incorporated in 1998, while still serving in the Canadian Navy as a means of supplying quality hand-tied atlantic salmon flies to stores throughout Eastern Canada. Richard's wife, Keri LaViolette was born and raised in Lower Sackville, Nova Scotia where she graduated from Sackville High School in 1991 and has been working with the company since 2004.
