Strait Area Physiotherapy initially opened its Port Hawkesbury, Nova Scotia location in 1996. Due to local demand the business expanded to a second location in Antigonish in 1998. Carol Anne graduated from STFX in 1992, majoring in English & Philosophy. In 1995 she went on to study Traditional Chinese Medicine in Victoria BC at the Canadian College of Oriental Medicine. Graduating in 1999 she moved back to Antigonish where she has been practicing in her own clinic now for 15 years. For the past 10 years Carol Anne has been expanding her knowledge of acupuncture learning Auricular Medicine. This healing model treats a wide variety of conditions, particularly stubborn ailments that have not responded to other therapies. Sheng Zhen Gong is another area of continuing education for Carol Anne . Since 2003 she has been working towards her Teaching Certification by attending several weekends of practice with certified Sheng Zhen instructors, as well as staying dedicated to her own personal practice. She has offered Qi Gong classes for the past 6 years in the Antigonish area.
